Everyone wants to make a little extra money.  Now that gas prices seem to be coming down a bit we can somewhat relax, but who knows what the next crisis will be nor do we know when it could happen.  So even though we are not cringing at the pump as much as we were finding extra ways to pull in income is not a bad idea.  Since the Internet has entered our homes and offices we have found just how easy it not only is to keep in contact with people, but also earn a few extra dollars in the meantime.  And it all adds up in the long run.   There are various types of online jobs you can find on the world wide web either through search engines or from networking with others.  Here are some of the more popular ways to earn online.

Online Survey Sites

These sites provide surveys that range from the simple Q & A format, to interactive surveys, and product testing.  Usually they pay you in points that you can redeem for cash, gifts and other prizes.   It is not hard to rack up points and/or products based upon your profile information.  One tip is to make sure your profile is up to date on these sites in order to maximize your survey opportunities.

There are some sites that seem like a scam and the only thing you may wind up getting in return for participating are dozens of emails from advertisers.  It is best to set up an account only for online activity to save you the frustration of having to filter through the spam emails.  Also, it is important to remember that you should never give out credit card information in order to complete the survey process.  The reputable ones will not ask you to do this.  They have all the information they need in order to submit surveys to you, process your surveys and send you the products or prizes.  Some of the survey sites do pay through paypal while others will mail payments to your home address.

There are a variety of social networking sites that pay you to post.  These paid to post sites vary in looks and styles.  Some are easier to maneuver around on and others it takes awhile to get into the swing of things.  But they not only pay you to post opinions, topics, and responses to post they also pay you for referrals.  The amount of payment varies depending on the site and most use paypal as a way of payment.  It just depends on the site you join up with and the one you enjoy participating in.

Some sites provide writers from various backgrounds and experiences the opportunity to write articles, reviews, and content.  These are great starting points for the beginner writer because it not only helps them grow as a writer while gaining articles for a portfolio, but it helps them generate a little income while networking.  Some sites work on a ranking system where the other writers (members) vote on which article is better and can anonymously contact you for a crtique of the work.  Other sites pay you a flat fee which is stated upfront in the terms and conditions you come across while registering with the site.  Again, most of these sites pay through paypal.

Paid to Click Sites (PTC)

This type of site is simply what it sounds like.  You will view sites through their ad page and you get credited for this simple action.  Although they pay low they have a lower cashout than other sites.  Some people claim there are many scam PTC sites out there so you have to do your research otherwise you may waste valuable time on one site when you could have been earning more on another.  You can use the social networking sites to find the most reliable PTC sites out there.  And they also pay via paypal when you reach the minimum cash out.
