Alcohol, bloody alcohol.

October 17th, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Food and Drink, Uncategorized

Is it really that great?

It makes you feel like crap, a banging head, gives you cotton mouth, it makes you stink and the room you wake up in smell like a brewery.

So why do we do it, its OK if you know how to drink sensibly, but does any one actually do that. I have recently been to a funeral of a friend who drunk himself to death. It was such a waist of his life, he was only 35 years old.

He just started off as a teenager drinking every weekend, getting off his face. All his friends use to think wow he is soo funny what a great guy, always up for a laugh him, really knows how to party. What they where not seeing was a person with a problem, the more he drunk the more his body was getting use to it, he then needed to drink more and more to get himself in that drunken state.

It slowly took over his life, he was told he was diabetic, type 1 in his late 20s. I could not believe he was still going, the doctors had given him so many warnings. He was in and out of hospital, really poorly, but he just felt he could not go out with his mates and have a laugh unless he was steaming drunk.

All of the friends he hang out with didn’t really help in any way, they where not going to stop or cut down on their drinking to try and help him. People would buy him a drink, thinking it was the polite thing to do. If i was there it would make me soo angry, that to me was just helping him die.

I think teenagers should be learning in school about the effects of drinking too much alcohol. More to the point how to drink sensibly. Also at home their parents should be setting a good example, not coming in after a night out steaming drunk and waking up the kids. Or the kids having to see their parents throwing there gut up in the loo, that’s if they get to the loo. Some people think its great, funny something to boast about.

For example, radio DJ’s, they like to big up how rough they are feeling, what a great night they had though, what they got up to. Then there are the TV presenters and programs like eastenders, they are always in the pubs, every day, you can’t get away from it.

Now I like a drink, but there is no need for people to get absolutely of their heads, just take your time and relax with it, its not a competition, its not a game, who will be the last one standing. It is not nice to be woken by your other half choking on their own vomit in the night, or because they have peed in the bed. So lets be grown ups and act respo

Don`t get ripped off!

October 14th, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Pets and Animals

Recently some family members of mine have been ripped off, they where looking to buy their first pet, they wanted a dog. They have just moved in together, into their new flat they are currently buying.

They went onto the internet, on a website that had dogs that needed new homes. They wanted a huskie, as they liked the way they looked. They did their research and they new about the hip scoring. They asked if the dog had a very good hip score and the couple they where to get the dog from blatantly new that the dog didn’t but told my friends that it did. They had even let the dog have pups, when it should not of. Which weakened the hips on her even more.

The thing was they had fallen for the dog, she is three years old and well trained already and seemed to take to them. The couple said they had to get rid of her because they had to move to a smaller house and could not keep her, the lady was in tears as well, so they believed what they where being told.

The bad news was realized a week or so later, when one of her hips went and then the truth all came out as they happened to see the same vet, who told them the bad news. They could not get the dog insured now. Then a week after the op the other went. They love this dog but now it has cost them lots of money already. The previous owners will not take any responsibility, would not offer them the £200 they paid for her back. It is now on going, paying out and more paying out for her treatment. Its already in the thousands.

So for any one who is thinking of getting themselves a dog, Please make sure you do your homework. Don’t get ripped off.

Get fit, without over doing it!

September 25th, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Fitness

So you want to get fit, but where do you start?

Well if you are like I use to be, you probably haven’t got much motivation. You perhaps need someone to get you motivated, like a trainer, or maybe a sexy man friend or woman, whom you can partner up with. You can give each other confidence.

I had my husband who was my inspiration, he joined the army and wanted to get fit. He took up boxing and I took up kick boxing, both fun sports that get you fit. Once I had built up my confidence,we started to go to the gym together and swimming and we did circuit training, this slowly built up my stamina. I then started going on short runs with my husband and slowly built up to 5 mile runs. It really starts to make you feel good about yourself.

We are talking about over a space of 5 years, I didn’t push myself too hard, which I think can put you off, I built up to it slowly, I wasn’t doing it to lose any weight, I just wanted to look toned and feel fit. If I can do it any one can, just don’t rush it, do it gradually, you will get there and it’s a great feeling.

My kids are growing up too fast, its scary.

September 23rd, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Family

My girls are growing up so fast, they are 11 years old, they have just started big school,Its like oh my god, i remember when i first started still. It is a real worrie, my sweet innocent girls are going to become corrupted and there is nothing i can do,is there?

They both look so grown up in their uniforms, we had a good laugh about shaving their legs, i told them my story,of when i first went to big school and i was mortified when i herd two older boys talking and saying about me, “god shes got hairy legs”, i was so embarrassed, could of died. I just didn’t want it happening to them. They didn’t really seem that bothered when i told them my story, well they shouldn’t be.Well that was that out the way. Then of course its getting their first bras, well, they are  obviously not really in need of them yet, they take after me,late developers shall we say, bless them. They make me laugh, one wears hers proudly any way and then rips it off as soon as she gets home, by pulling it out of her sleeve like a magic act. The other one finds it irritating and has started to refuse to wear it at all, joking with me saying she wants to be free.

Then there is their periods,oh my god ,i think i’m more worried than they are,at least  they have got each other, which is good,i never had a sister to talk to. It cant be far off now, ahh bless them.

Then there is all the bad lingo, you know, they have already come back home and told me,their friends have started swearing and that to look cool and that there is people in the year above,  they have seen smoking. What can i possibly do,i can keep up the little white lie i told them both, for as long as i can. I told them from an early age that they are both allergic to smoke,it would most probably kill them and that’s why they get watery stinging eyes when they go near smoke. Well, its worked so far, they still believe it,i think.

Well all i can really do is hope they dont get into the wrong crowd and they have got their heads screwed on right.I believe i have done all i can to prepare them for what lies a head. They will always be my little babys,my angels,i dont want that to change.

Should you welcome old age?

September 19th, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Family, Health, Personal Development, Women's Issues

Is it just me?, or does every one think about, what it will be like for them when they get old. See, I’ve always done this, ever since I became a teenager, i would say to people, I’m not going to get old. I’m only 29 now but, i do find myself thinking about it often, sad isn’t it. I mean i would rather take my own life before nature takes it from me. Does any one else feel like this?

I have got children, two girls already, another on the way but, i really would not want to be a burden to them, having to look after me when I’ve started to lose my marbles or just can’t take care of myself properly, you know all the problems that you start getting when ya old.

Looking on the bright side, i may not get too many problems, you just don’t know. I try and keep fit and eat some, of the right foods, still got bloody purple veins appearing on my legs though. Its not so much what i will look like, its just how will i feel. What if i cant go out for a walk and i cant wash my own feet. I think being a carer my self, part time, really has given me an insite to how the elderly live. All i can say is its bloody scary. Some have no family at all, so they only see strangers, who don’t really want to spend there precious time, chatting with the old folk.  They are in and out, wash em, dress em, feed em. It was this job that made me think, i have got to expand my family some more, hence being pregnant again.

I am happy in my life despite what it may sound like. I have a loving husband, he is 6 years older than me, it doesnt seem to bother him getting old, he just gets on with it. When we first met, i did talk to him, i said it would be really nice if we could plan to go together, you know, so we don’t leave one of us behind, i could not handle that. So i suggested maybe when we reach our early 70`s, we could get sloshed together on some beautiful island in the sun, drop a few pills lay down on the sand and just drift off together to a better place. I would tell my children what we where planning, i just think that would be the ideal way to go, but hey thats just me.

Im sooo coming back as a man.

September 17th, 2008 | Article by Bimbo | Health, Women's Issues

I think men have got it much easier than us, don’t you agree? If men had to have children then i believe, i really do, that the human race would die off. I’m about to give birth any day now, it sucks, he is away with the army. I just feel like I’m ready to explode, bloody stretch marks, veins, constipation, heart burn, feeling like a big ugly hippo.

As women, are we really meant to enjoy the whole pregnancy thing? I know some people love being pregnant but, come on, it feels like something from the film Aliens, even looks like that when you see it moving inside you, trying to get out, ewww.

My man is due back soon, hopefully just in time, I’m literally keeping my legs crossed. I mean its fine for him to phone me and email me and say don’t worry, hes not the one who is here in this situation. I don’t know any one well enough to help me if it decides to make an early appearance.  We have only been living here in this married quarter for nearly two years, all my friends and family are back home. I keep going over it in my head, my plan of action, will I be able to drive myself to hospital, or will I have to call an ambulance. I have only got my two girls who are 11 to help me, aaahhhh.

Yeah, I’m coming back as man, NO periods, don’t have to ware chaffing bras, spend loads on sexy undies, no bloody smear tests, don’t really have to worry about appearance too much, don’t have to shave ya bloody legs and sort out the lady garden. Then there is the barnett, you could just have it shaved off. The money you could save. Ooh yes im coming back as a man, anybody with me?
