Teach our children
October 16th, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Culture and Society, Family, Hobbies, Personal Development, RelationshipsI will start with I’m writing this article, for I see a lot of single parents trying to raise children on their own. I watch as they struggle to make it, but yet they don’t want their child(ren) knowing the situation. I’m starting to believe that our children need to know about the way our economy is.
Starting them young in letting them try to understand how far a dollar bill will actually go would really educate them. Starting them young in doing small things in earning money will help them the older they get to know for every dollar worked for is a dollar earned. I’m not saying giving is a problem, but to often the children today are handed everything not knowing what it’s truly going to be like when they are older. Why should our children be depended on a mechanic when they could learn to do it on their own?
All to often we let the children sit in front of a TV to watch cartoons when really they should be learning how to stand on their two feet without totally feeling depended on someone when they don’t need to. I have 3 children and I will tell you that my youngest is 2 1/2 years old and he knows what a screw driver is for. He loves to watch us change oil and clean our bikes. Which is nothing wrong with that, he’s not doing anything harmful, but learning. My daughter which is 9 will fish, likes to hunt and will help with a hog. Being able to survive without the necessities is important, enjoying the fact that you have something that you really don’t need is good, but know the difference between what’s needed and not is life.
Watching the economy drop in a flash is hurting everyone including the children today. If they learn early they will be able to stand on their own two feet and be able to survive by the time they are, our age. Maybe I am old fashion in teaching, but handing everything over isn’t going to help them, in reality it will hurt them. We all want more for our kids, then what we had, but facts are we can give them that as well as teach them to survive. Not knowing the way things will be at our age for them, well my guess is the environment and economy will be worse, we need to teach them. With our jobs leaving or having to close their doors, which only means their will be a lot less for our children by our age, so they need to learn.
School can teach so much to them, but as parent we need to teach them as well for what school does not.
Forgetting is our own greed
October 6th, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Culture and Society, Environment, Other, Religion and SpiritualityLurking in the shadows is what we have forgotten. Everywhere we go it fallows us. On the brightest days it show its self, and we will ignore it only to laugh at it in the end. Our shadow has many faces, many which are untold. When you see your shadow, your belief is it’s a reflection, but a reflection of what? Of you, or of your past? We try to justify our shadow being from the suns rays, but could it really be something else? For a moment stop, look and think, every time you look, your outline is different. Your outline of yourself to the outline of your distinct shadow which follows you everywhere.
We all have many followers, from what you see today, may not be what you see tomorrow. Our shadow is the same as us, we as well have many faces. Have you took the time to hear the story behind what follows us? I mean the shadow, the shadow can tell many stories, about us as we can to someone else. For every time you stop to look at it, it as well is looking at you. Is our shadow a distinction of light, or could be a lingering past that we carry?
The old saying, you can tell what someone is about by impressions, our shadow spends eternity with us unwillingly and unknowingly about it self. For every day that passes we try to study science wanting to know the unknown, as well as our followers. No one has ever stopped to think that the things that surround us have a story to tell too. Something as small as shadow, can tell of deception, happiness, betrayal, past, and maybe even of our future.
We rush our daily lives, we push through just so we can redo it the next day. We as people have forgotten those precious thing as well as those small things that make us. Since life has begun, we have been taught about nature, science, history, religion and right from wrong, but anywhere in there have you been told that if you listen to nature it will guide you, just as if you looked for the north star to find your way home. Have you been camping without the camper? Have you sat there and just listened, listened to the callings, to the trees? For every log cabin we build we take away from animals and their homes, we slowly take away from ourselves the oxygen we use. We don’t just extinct animals we are doing it to ourselves. For everything we have taken for granted as well as for greed is becoming extinct as we unknowingly accept the way things are. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our daily lives we forget the everything else and ignore the problems that exist and that it is only ignorance of society to forget we are here to preserve our planet, so that we can survive as one. As the prayer goes United we stand.
How though, I ask, can we stand united as one, if we can’t as two? As for our shadow, these are the untold stories that lye within us.
HIMALAYAS
October 1st, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Culture and Society, Environment, Recreation and Leisure, Science and TechnologyDo you know where the Himalayas are? Do you know how large the Himalayas are? Do you know what it separates? The reason I start with questions is most children in school today are ask the same questions. So to help children to get information and so we can know as well, I have written some information down that just might help.
The Himalayas are the worlds largest mountain range, the Himalayas curve 1490 miles across the South Asia, separating the Plateau of Tibet from the low plains of Northern India. The Mountains and the Plateau were created when the Indian subcontinent collide with Asia about 20 million years ago, thrusting the floor of the intervening ocean high up and the deep inland. The Indian Plate is still moving North about 2.5 inches per a year and the mountains are still rising at a rate of 0.2 inches per a year. The Himalayas can be split into three parallel ranges, ascending in height from the Plans: the sub-Himalayan Siwalik range, consisting of material eroded from the higher mountains, lesser Himalaya foothills and the snow-capped Great Himalayas.

Have a date under $30.00
September 30th, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Family, Home, Men's Issues, Relationships, Women's IssuesWe all like to go out to have some fun and maybe try going out on a date or two. Well got to say when you keep going out on different dates you can have a lot of money tied up in it and maybe not even have that much fun. Well I’m here to tell you that there’s ways to have fun, but keep it decently cheap.
Number 1. Cheesy but true the movies.. sit in or drive in.
Number 2. Waterfall mini golfing, it’s a way to see the negative and the positive side of the other person. (keep that a secret.)
Number 3. Going on a nature walk with a basket full of goodies..(make sure you have some fruit)
Number 4. Fair - this kind of date would be one that is your second date, being if there is one..
Number 5. Visit a coffee shop or ice cream parlor. This is a date for $10 or less. It gets you out of the house for a treat and you can enjoy the ambiance of these places.
Number 6. freebie - popcorn and movie at your place - most popular
Number 7. Find your city’s historical or garden society
Number 8. Attend a local theater production. For example, our local colleges put on highly entertaining shows and tickets usually run between $5-$7 each
We all would like to get to know the person we are going out with and these way are a pretty good way of doing just that. When I meant my husband now we meant at a dinner, just to have coffee and 4 years later were still married.
GOOD LUCK IN YOUR ADVENTURE!

Mother’s day of 1905
September 28th, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Family, Personal Development, Relationships, Women's IssuesThe celebration of all the Mothers. I’m a mother myself and I’ve always wonder how this day came of May. Well to give just a small insight of this day that we cherish with our families.
It’s hard to believe that for mother’s day to become a celebration, someone elses mother had to pass away.
Mother’s Day holiday, in the United States and Canada, celebrates motherhood generally and the positive contributions of mothers to society. It falls on the second Sunday of each May. It is the result of a campaign by Anna Marie Jarvis (1864–1948), who, following the death of her mother on May 9, 1905, devoted her life to establishing Mother’s Day as a national, and later an international, holiday. The first observances of both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day were held in the state of West Virginia.
Have you ever read articles and realized most holidays, celebrations and acknowledgements came from West Virgina?
U.K and Ireland is the fourth Sunday of Lent. It was a time when Catholics were supposed to travel to attend Mass in their “Mother Church” (the regional cathedral) rather than in their local parish.
The “Mother’s Day” anti-war observances founded by Julia Ward Howe in 1872
Both are sometimes claimed as the “founder of Mother’s Day,” implying that Julia Ward Howe’s June 2nd occasion and Anna Jarvis’ second-Sunday-in-May event are one in the same.
I believe for mother’s and mothers to be should be celebrated as well as fathers’. They go through so much everyday and worry so much about someon else. Being parents, puts yourself on the back burner and puts your bundle of joy ahead of all else.
Julia Ward Howe’sMother’s Day, celebrated on June 2nd, was first proclaimed around 1870 by Julia Ward Howe’s Mother’s Day Proclamation, and Howe called for it to be observed each year nationally in 1872. As originally envisioned, Howe’s “Mother’s Day” was a call for pacifismand disarmament by women.
Teaching at any age
September 23rd, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Family, Personal Development, RelationshipsFrom the time you are born until the time for sleep we’re always on an adventure. Our adventures may take us places that seem unreal to us, but they are actually lessons being taught. Just like school we get taught lessons from a book. As for our lives we can’t pick up a book so we know what’s going to happen next. We are selves make our journey on our own. We make our own book.
For every child they want to grow up before it’s their time. You try and try to have them be a child because they will grow and eventually they won’t be our little ones anymore, even for children they love the adventure of the outdoors.
Trying to decipher between right and wrong as a young child is hard, but in some cases it’s even harder as an adult. There is a lot for us to learn throughout our lives and that is what makes life an adventure.
No matter what we are handed throughout our lives we aren’t dealt a hand we can’t manage. But of course managing things can be very difficult, but a little time and effort everything can and will plan out for you.
It’s just about life that keeps teaching us at any age.
What we call ourselves
September 22nd, 2008 | Article by khrys24 | Politics and Government, UncategorizedThis is a statement of reality that turned political, but yet will probably mean nothing.
It’s now 2008 and the year is more then half way over and still with so many unanswered questions and the lost of why we are fighting anymore. In America we are told we have freedom, we have rights and we have more privileges then any other country, So why are we having what they call freedom taken away and our rights? Rest the souls who tried to help our country for the better, but we sit here with more and more things taken away.
Why hasn’t more people stood up for our rights and talked out about what our economy needs. We watch this government of ours spend our money that supposedly we don’t have, but yet rebuild anther country. We use to have this freedom of speech right, but the over all outcome is that it’s been taken away from us. Americans have to sit back and suffer why our government decides others need the money and help more then we do.
We have this election going on as we do every 4 years and it’s the same old story being told every time this happens. Everyone who has ran for our president has said they will make a change, but what change were they really talking about? They say they will help with our health care coverage, but does that mean to raise the prices and get less coverage? For the working family they get less acknowledgment then those who choose to do nothing with their lives.
Growing up I bet a lot of people have been told you always have a choose. But when we start talking about making ends meet, feeding our families, keeping a job that isn’t going to decide they are closing their doors, or unaffordable coverage for our health. What chooses do we really have.
The real estate market is dropping at a rapid speed and they just now decided they would do a little something.
I think it’s time that politics get put to the side and their ego and help the ones who help them get into office and pay them to do what’s right for us.
