Beware myspacers!
Article about: money, myspace, nigerian scams, secure, warning
I, am a myspace.com user and recently did an online date search and came across this person that claimed to be a female from Allen, Texas but in South Africa in a model pageant for Faces of Africa.
So we chatted a couple days and she asked for a way to transfer money to my account so I can buy us a place. So I told her to use Western Union, of course she has no clue on how to use Western Union. This brought up red flags. A model from Texas don’t know how to use Western Union? Okay I dug a little deeper and gave her an location of a Western Union in Nigeria, Africa. Also told her to forget the place I have a place for us to live .
Well the scam was revealed she went on to say she did not really have enough money for a plane ticket back to the states, could I send some? Well in the beginning she forgot she had told me she had money also enough to send me some. Warning if you are asked to have money sent to you by an person from out of the U.S. do not trust them right away, also google “Nigerian scams” and you’ll see why!
BEWARE MYSPACE users she or him, “if this is a new scam ring” want your account info to take you for all you have.
