We are in the process of planning a very large Thanksgiving celebration with my husbands family.  When all of our children were little, we would get together every year for every holiday.  Then as all the kids grew up, some went their own way.  We have some on each side of the country and some with significant others that require their attention at the holidays too.  So, this year, we found out that the ones who no longer live near home are able to come home for Thanksgiving.  We have decided to plan to have everyone together again to celebrate the holiday like we used to.  We used to number around 12.  Now we grew to almost 30.

My mother-in-law called me last week to talk to me about this planned dinner.  We are renting a hall because no one has a big enough house to hold everyone and cook.  What my mother-in-law wanted to know is if we have ever had ham for Thanksgiving?  I do remember a time or two when we did.  She was happy to hear that as she is hungry for ham and wants to go out and buy a ham.  Now my sis-in-law found out about this and was not happy.  She said “no ham because no one will eat turkey.”

Now, I don’t see what difference it makes.  Ham or turkey is fine with me.  Sure turkey is tradition, but whats more important, holiday tradition or family tradition?  Eating ham instead of turkey is not going to make it any less Thanksgiving than eating turkey.  Besides, I think just being together again is the highlight of the holiday.  I don’t care if I eat mac and cheese, with all the people I love around me, I am more than thankful.

Whenever you finish an arduous activity successfully, you feel like thanking God or nature for having enabled you to finish off the work at hand. You celebrate the successful completion of the work as a gesture of thanksgiving. There is an old tradition particularly in North America where the farmers celebrate harvest festival as Thanksgiving. They celebrate the occasion by eating turkey.

The tradition of eating turkey during thanksgiving celebrations goes back to the time of Queen Elizabeth of England. It is said that when the Queen was celebrating the harvest festival with baked goose, she heard the news of the victory of the British Navy over the mighty Spanish Armada. She was so delighted that she ordered an additional roast goose. In this way, goose became the favorite bird for celebrating harvest season in England. When the British pilgrims migrated to America, they replaced roasted goose with turkey as wild turkeys were more easily available than geese. Thus a new tradition of eating turkey came into being in America at the Thanksgiving celebrations.

The tradition of eating turkey to celebrate a success has its roots in America as well. It is related to the ‘History of Plymouth Plantation’, written by William Bradford. It is said that his documents were taken away by the British during the War of Independence, but were rediscovered in 1854. The recovery of the documents was celebrated by eating turkey as a gesture of thanksgiving. The male turkey is called ‘tom’ while the female turkey is called ‘hen’.

Whatever the historical reasons for eating turkey, one thing is sure and that is that wild turkey definitely makes a delicious meat for Thanksgiving celebrations. According to Benjamin Franklin turkey is the original native of North America and therefore a more respectable bird. The reason why wild turkey makes a delicious eat is that it feeds upon acorns and other natural products which give turkey the ultimate taste.

INTRODUCTION

Eating is what the people always love to do and eating is not really bad habit but there are some cases that we need to consider. Eating too much can cause illness. If you eat too much sweet then there is a possibility for diabetes, if you eat too much salty food then there is another possibility for kidney stone so we need to make it balance and to conduct a good diet. It is important to know what are the right food to maintain the healthy body.

TYPES OF DIET

There are actually 5 types of diet and those are liquid diet, soft diet, light diet, diabetic diet and low-calorie diet.

Liquid diet- it is usually a diet for a sick person and most patient is only given fluids. Fluids are easily to be digested that other food and it help our system to be clean easily. If you are planning to have a diet then try this kind of diet.

Soft diet-it is usually given for some days after the liquid diet. When you say soft diet, it is dealing to those food that is easy to be chewed or swallow it.

Light diet-it is a semi-solid consist of easily digestible food. You can give a small quantity of food but not the fried food.

Diabetic diet- If you are dealing in diabetes then you need to have diabetic diet. This is consider to be a special diet. In this case, the body is unable to deal with the starches and sugar so better avoid it. There is not strict rules when it comes to carbohydrates.

Low-calorie diet- It is a common special diet and conduct to most overweight individual. Most of the over weight patient develop illness of various kins such as back pain, join pain, highblood and more. In this case, low-calorie should be applied and avoid eating junk foods and fatty foods. Replace it to salads and fresh foods.

If you are willing to have a health body, you need to make yourself healthy by following what is right for you. Remember, no one can help you so help yourself.

INTRODUCTION

There are some people who are born to have sensitive skin and I am one of them. Having sensitive skin is not that easy because there are lots of things that you need to avoid and if not avoided, this can lead into skin allergy. Most is just rashes and some red marks but in some rare cases, in could be worst. In my case, I am dealing with unknown skin allergy still. I went to many physicians but all of there medicines is not working for me so the thing I did is I change my food and exercise regularly.

It is said that exercising can help to boost your immune system and can prevent skin allergies. It occurs when your system is weak and it cannot protect your whole body and react easily to the substances that you are eating, smelling or touching…

CAUSES OF SKIN ALLERGY

Skin allergy have many causes and some of them are:

Dust - There are some skin that react so easily when touch a dust or smell it just like me, I always clean my room but I suffer after cleaning it because even just 2 minutes, my whole skin get red and itchy. If you feel like itchy easily when it comes to dust then you better avoid it to prevent red rashes.

DOGS - Most of the people I know is allergic to dogs and every animal with hair. Me too… I am allergic to it so if you feel like itchy while holding them then sad to say you need to avoid them.

WASHING SOAPS - I just discovered that I am allergic to soap too when I washed my clothes so if you wash it then better use some gloves.

SOME FOOD - Avoid fried chicken, crab, egg, and fatty foods. Replace them with fruits and salad to make your immune system boost and fight allergies. If you have the severe allergy then this foods will be dangerous for you. Most patience I know cannot breath, turning to violet or worst so avoid it for your best health.

This is just only some samples of cause of skin allergies and there are more. There are some very rare case that people can be allergic to medicines. So to know if you what food or things you are allergic then better go to the doctor and have a blood test. It will help on what type of allergy you have or if it is mild or severe.

Don’t be discourage or worried about it as long you are following what are the doctor saying then everything will be fine. I know some of you guys don’t know what to do but the best way is too boost your immune system so eat lots and lots of fruits and exercise regularly.

With a fridge full of food and nothing that you want to have every day for a month even though that’s how much food is in your freezer and fridge you automatically want to go out for food or just start throwing stuff out so you don’t make yourself sick.  Instead of wasting money by eating out when you have plenty of food or wasting food by throwing it out you can create new things that you usually love and you won’t get sick of your holiday cuisine.

Say you have turkey, stuffing and vegetables in your fridge.  You could make a casserole with everything with the stuffing as kind of a pie crust which is awesome.  All you have to do is mix 2.5-3 cups of stuffing with a half a cup of broth and one egg stir everything together and press into a pie plate then mix some turkey with gravy or cream of whatever veggie you like pour on top of stuffing and bake at 350 for 30-35 min. 

If you don’t want to stay in the same taste range you could heat up the turkey in some barbecue sauce and make some mac and cheese heat up the veggies and you’re good to go.  Of course turkey sandwiches are a must but mix and match some breads you like but don’t usually get even bagels or some fancy cheeses. 

If you like snack tray stuff cut up some turkey, cheese, beef stick and some veggies get your favorite dip and enjoy.  Also remember turkey is fairly similar to chicken and you can do most of the same stuff with turkey that you can do with chicken.  There’s a world of salads and  snack wraps, sandwiches and pastas so you won’t have to keep eating the same thing over and over again.

Believe it or not the same thing goes for ham.  There is a reason they call it the other white meat.  It goes with pretty much everything and since leftovers are mostly precooked you don’t have to worry about extensive prep times.  A really great thing to try with the ham may be a ham stew.  Chop up some celery, carrots, potatoes and onions and toss in cubes of ham all into a pot of boiling water and cook until veggies are soft, stir in some milk and potato flakes or cornstarch until it is the thickness desired.  Since ham is usually salty taste test while stirring in your seasonings like you would for most dishes but add salt sparingly that way it won’t get overpowering.

As we are dealing in the modern way of life today, Bacteria and viruses are getting tough too so we need to protect our self for those dangerous livings things that will cause illness and some different kind of diseases that can destroy our organs and makes our body weak or even worst.

If this happen, our daily life will be affected and we will be left behind to the responsibilities and plans that we need to complete.

To have healthy body and to protect yourself  to diseases, some of my advices will be helpful for your daily living.

EAT FRUITS- People who eat fruits is absolutely healthy inside and outside because fruits have all the kinds of natural vitamins that our body needs and strong protection for some harmful diseases. Practice eating fruits everyday then your skin and inner organs will be healthy and beautiful. Feed you body with healthy fruits just like: apples, oranges, grapes, papaya, strawberries, mango, watermelon and more…

DRINK WATER- If you are a soda drinker then better minimize it and drink more water. Try to drink about 8 glasses a day or more because it helps the body to wash away all the toxins inside our body. By drinking water everyday,our body will be not dehydrated. It will make our skin more younger too.

30 MINUTES EXERCISE- Conduct some exercise for yourself like jogging and walking so that you will get sweat and make your bones and muscle more stronger. Exercising daily boost your immune system more that protect you from all the harmful things around you so give time for exercising.

HAVE ENOUGH SLEEP- Sleep for about 7-9 hours so that your body can rest to avoid stress. Having enough sleep is one way to make your body healthy and younger. We people need at least 7 hours of sleep so you better have enough sleep.

TAKE VITAMINS- If you are dealing in rough work then you need to take some vitamins so that your body will keep strong and better. Taking B-complex vitamin is helpful. Take your vitamins every morning and not during the night.

AVOID JUNK FOODS- If you are a big fan or junk foods then better think of your health and stop eating it now. It gives you disease like kidney stone, UTI and more.. Too much salt is not good for the body especially artificial made then better avoid it.

EAT VEGETABLES- Start eating vegetables like, potatoes, spinach, radish, carrots and more because this will keep you healthy and fit. It will make healthy if you eat it then better practice eating it.

With childhood obesity figures rising, one of the most important things you need to know is what your child is eating whilst in Nursery School or playgroup.

Are the children being fed nutritional homemade food with a varied diet, or are they being fed nutrient deficient, mass produced junk foods?

Many nurseries now provide meal information as part of their “handover” to parents at the end of the day, if this information is not readily given, ask! The nursery staff should be willing to give this information willingly.

If you are in doubt of what your child is eating, ask the nursery if you are able to supply meals for your child at a reduced childcare cost. Most will have no objection to this, as, your child may have allergies or food intolerance which they might not be aware of.

Homemade nutritional food can be made from scratch at a cost to the nursery of less than 1GBP, to feed a class of 12 children. How can they then justify not providing this for the children? It doesn’t make sense. Surely it costs them more to make junk food.

I find myself in a fortunate position where my daughter is now at an age where she can tell me what she had to eat, whether the nursery told me or not. If find this really helpful as I would not want to make her tuna pasta for dinner, if that is what she had at lunchtime!

If you are in any doubt, contact the nursery manager who can discuss meals and nutritional needs with you. Don’t be afraid to say you don’t want your child eating something, for whatever reason. The childcare provider has a duty of care to respect your wishes regarding your child.

Introduction

As we all know acne is one of the main problem of teenagers in adolescence stage especially the boys because according to the expert, over 60% of them have more oily skin compared to the females.

Acne Definition

If we define what is acne, it is a skin disorder marked by a inflammation of skin glands and hair follicles and by pimple formation especially on the face.

Acne usually appears in the face but there are rare cases that it will affect the neck,shoulder,back and chest area.

More than 90% of the teens suffering acne and not only teens,even women about 30 years old have the big possibility to have acne and worst thing is that is is difficult to treat.

Acne usually starts at the early age and ends in 20’s but more in 30’s.There are some cases that it starts in the 30’s and until the individual get older.There is no exact explanation about this when it will end.

MY EXPERIENCE

I know how it feels because I am one of the sufferers.It came out at the age of 9 and I thought it is only in the face but then after 2 years,it started to spread in my back,neck, and shoulders.

I already went to many dermatologist and followed their advices but they cannot help.I already tried all the different products but it did not work so I have no choice is to look on how I will treat myself in some ways that I need to change my life style.

WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF ACNE

Stress - In my own experience, one of the thing I discovered is stress. I am usually over stress with my work and as I observed, it is getting worst.

Lack of sleep - I found out too that lack of sleep can cause acne it is because it will make you stress more and your cells and organs cannot easily work if we are still awake during the late night. I am always lack of sleep and it really makes my skin looks awful.

Fatty foods - I know there are lots of people saying that it is not the cause of acne but it can be cause of acne if you eat too much… It will increase the oil in your skin and there is a possibility for those people who already have it like me.

Cosmetics and scented soaps - I am wearing light make up because of the work and It is another reason that will make you acne worst.

Using scented soaps can easily irritate you skin if you have it already.

SOLUTIONS TO ACNE

Don’t over stress - That’s that great advice I can make. I really proved it to myself that over stress will really cause acne. Now, I put myself into rest and avoid the stress. If you have enough time to rest then better grab that time to sleep and it will help to avoid breakouts. Base in my experienced, stress is the worst thing that makes your acne worst so you better have enough rest and peace of mind.

Sleep- Sleep at least 7-9  hours. We already know that having enough sleep is one of the best way to make our system relax. When I am having 7-9  hours sleep, I figured out that it is not increasing and I am really happy for it because it reduces my problems too it so have enough sleep.

Avoid fatty foods- Try to eat more fruits and avoid fried foods. It increases oil to our skin and it may cause acne. Exercise regularly just by jogging because it wash out  all the toxins in our body and it will make us more healthy

Minimize or Avoid Cosmetics and scented soaps- If you are already dealing in acne then you better avoid using cosmetics because it can easily clog your pores and the oil will be trap there and can cause acne or pimples. Try using unscented soaps because it will reduce the break outs. Use sulfur soap because for sure it helps.

SOLUTION TO SCAR ACNE

Try mixing about 3 teaspoon of salt into one glass of water. If you are about to take a bath then you can use it as a scrubber. Scrub it to the affected areas smoothly. If you have open wound then it is not advisable to use this treatment.

Don’t squeeze the acne of it will cause ugly scars and better take my advice because you will regret just like me.

THERE IS HOPE, DON”T LOSE HOPE

This is only the simple ways to get rid of acne and now I am free to acne after changing my life style.

No one can really help you but first yourself. Help yourself to have discipline and you will be free to it.

Don’t get discourage because it is not the end of the world. Don’t think that it is a block to your dreams and beauty. If the person really loves you then he or she accept who you are no matter what. His is only simple skin problems and always think positive. If you will think you have acne then it will increase more. Just think that it will be gone and you will be beautiful. There is always changes and that changes will soon completes you.
