Deer Hunting: Things You May Not Know

There is every year about this time a flurry of activity and protests about hunting. It is nearly the fall deer-hunting season and many people would have you believe that it is a cruel and terrible sport that we should abolish. I beg to differ, not only because I grew up with hunting and fishing but because after being horrified about Bambi’s mom being shot I decided to get educated instead.
The first thing that I would like to point out about hunting deer for sport or food is that the deer do have a chance. Unlike our domesticated cattle, hogs and chickens they are not being raised, in most cases, to be carted off to a slaughterhouse to provide food for people. If you think there is anything humane about the way our livestock is butchered in this country, you need to check your facts. I personally have witnessed the indignation that chickens can go through when I worked at a chicken processing plant. It was not pretty; animals were torn in half and thrown around for fun. That is not even taking into consideration the regular process they go through before ending up on your dinner plate.
Nevertheless, this writing is about deer so I digress. In North America today there are estimated to be about thirty million white tail deer. This number is up significantly from the 1930’s when commercial exploitation and unregulated hunting of the white tail brought its numbers down to around 300,000. Hunters and conservationists led the outcry and practices were made into law that now has brought this species back from the brink of extinction.
The conservation practices have been so successful that there are areas in this country where deer and motorists collide regularly. Causing untold property damage and carnage. To combat this every year a states wildlife management team will put out the hunting regulations for different regions.
Another issue that no one wants to deal with is diseases that are controlled through conservation practices. If you have never heard of chronic wasting disease then you should look it up. It is a horrible disease that causes the infected animal to waste away. The pictures will tear you apart, and the worse part is the disease is highly contagious and has the potential to wipe out entire populations of white tail deer. The only control they have found is men and women willing to hunt these populations with no benefit to them. The meat is not safe to eat and many times the head will be used for necropsy so no mount to put on the wall either.
Now the argument has been presented that nature will not out grow her habitat. That is utter non-sense as anyone who has seen the news can tell you. Bears that come down to civilization, mountain lions killing joggers, and deer causing wrecks, sounds to me like nature has decided to share our world whether we like it or not. When this happens, animals begin to starve to death in the wintertime. Watch a video of a young deer pawing feebly at a frozen patch of earth then falling exhausted where he stands, you will rethink what is humane and what is not.
The last area I will address is the inhumanity of hunting. There have been and always will be the extremist who will not be regulated no matter what you do. These types of people will disregard the laws of the land and hunt deer out of season. This causes orphans and a host of other issues. These are also the type of hunter who is reckless and careless not taking the time to be sure their kill is humane. Those are not the norm in hunters, a true hunter is very careful to bide their time and get a good shot. The idea of leaving a wounded animal in the wild or anywhere else is just as abhorrent to them as it is to anyone else.
These are the facts as I have gathered them from different states wildlife conservation statistics. CWD can be researched on the internet as well as the population numbers for North American Whitetail deer. Check the information for your self and make your own decision.

#1. Whether an animal die in slaughterhouse or in their home its no different. Would you like to have that kind of choice ? Millions of deer are left wounded and crippled especially by bowhunting. Every year deer are terrorized in their home trying to flee with the young ones who don’t quiet know what is going on while the hunters gun shots are heard and I am sure the deer knows there are death to their people happening. Bowhunters hang out on their cowardly tree stand with a deer bait and when deer get hit to find them is to follow bloodtrails. some these death can takes hours, days even up to a month. Slaughterhouse animals have anti-cruelty laws forest animals have no rights nor protection what so ever. Hunters can do what ever they want and how ever they want shoot them some to intentionally cause pain and laugh at their terrible death. I had seen enough hunters snuff videos
2. Hunting is the cause of deer vehicle accident and overpopulation. Wildlife Agencies needs the abundance of deer year after year so they manipulte wildlife to ensure that would happen. Why do you think they are so against birth control too? because that would get in their way of their manipulation.
Did you know Deer Vehicle Accident has gone up significantly in the last 15 years and GET THIS.
Its in the most hunted state like Pa, Wisconsin, Texas and NJ. How the hell does that happen? DNR has been lying to the public when they keep claiming hunting “reduces” deer vehicle accident?

One last thing. Hunting is NOT about food its about “sports” and “fun” . That is what makes it all the more sickening for pain and suffering is NOT a “sport”

1) You have seen deer hunters snuff videos?! Are you kidding me?? Have you seen real snuff films as well? Do you pretend that just because you seen a few idiots doing something that everyone is doing it as well? Do you know that deer season is chosen to limit the very thing you complain about? And if you think that animals in a slaughterhouse are seeing their “rights” tended too, then you have never been to a food processing plant! These animals are brutalized in ways you could not imagine. Been to a cattle farm lately? Ever seen a calf beller and blow snot as their horns are removed and blood runs down their face?
2) The deer populations in many of the states you mentioned were utterly decimated before wildlife management efforts brought them back from the brink of extinction, read the history of the deer and not from a wildlife site either. Reputable organizations have studied these numbers over the years. How proay tell does a wildlife organization manipulate the number of animals but yet not protect them? As far as accidents over the last 15 years I am going to say as a former truck driver that the traffic has increased dramatically over the last ten years I know for a fact.
My basic problem here is that people want to lump hunters into this blood thirsty mob and that is simply not the case. I know personally many hunters, I live in rural Arkansas and have been on hunts before. I have watched men let deer with babies walk as well as ones that were to far away for a clean shot. And guess what? We do eat the deer! The “sportsmen” here that dont donate the meat to needy families. Be fair and do not judge all by the bad behavior of a few.
One last word on the “rights” of the furry woodland creatures. You are correct they have the right to starve to death when their numbers increase to a level that the forage can no longer support them. Watch a video of a deer nearly skin and bones pawing at a frozen patch of ground for non-existent food and tell me how humane that is?

All the state that has ‘hunters’ the population of deer has skyrocketed which causes deer vehicle accident, wildlife diseases and all kinds of problems associated with deer overpopulation but they were intentionally cultivated for ‘hunters’ to use for “sports” not because they “care” for wildlife but because they can kill them. Not only does the DNR and wildlife agencies (run by ‘hunters’) could give a damn about the life of the animals but also could give a damn about the life of human who die from deer vehicle accident. Its been proven that DVA’s are highest during deer murder season plus given that deer overpopulation is intentionally cultivated from DNR add all those together I see nothing heartless human waste who only cares about their “thrill kill” and no one or nothing else!
You mean to tell me that DNR has been lying to the public that they can “reduce” deer vehicle accident all these years? And if they know that deer is the problem and ‘hunting’ is doing nothing for the problem why do they negate deer birth control? Even try to use it in conjunction with ‘hunting’ but they will not do it becaue the fear is that they know it will work and they will not be able to manipulate wildlife anymore. then guess what? there will be no compensatory rebound effect where does will give birth to twins and triplets. Now there wont give birth at all lol

How ‘hunting ’causes starvation
1.If ‘hunting’ causes overpopulation then ‘hunting’ causes starvation.
2. Someone please show me a picture of a ‘hunter’ with their smiling faces and a dead emaciated deer? Can someone provide me that/?
3. ‘Hunting’ also causes starvation because stress from the killers in forest makes deer unable to eat
4. ‘Hunting’ causes starvation because of deer continues running and moving to avoid death have them burn more calories and stored fat
5. ‘Hunting” seperates the group leaving young ones behind which they do not get the warmth from the group
6. If ‘hunters’ are so “worried” about starving deer why do they not wait till later in the season to kill rather then when the deer is fat?
7. ‘Hunters’ kill deer’s natural predators ie, coyotes, wolves and bears. The natural predators weed out the sickly keeping the healthy for future healthy herd
8. ‘Hunters’ kills the healthy or the ones with the big rack and leave the sickly behind which causes future weaker herd.
10. Starvation is part of animals life, being sick and dying is part of nature and that is how weak ones will die and healthy stay on but what happens with ‘hunting’? They kill the healthy and strong!
Overall ‘hunting’ destroys the healthy eco-balance and causes starvation
Look at the videos above remember that is about “love’ for wildlife its about human who have the mind of serial killers instead of using human victims uses the animals
Also that “sweet” story about the baby deer and mother you suffer from moral schizophrenia and you actually think we going to sit here and go “awww how nice” when at the same time shoot the arrow or bullet into another deer. That baby will become an adult that you will murder of “sports”
