With the holidays quickly approaching, I am looking for ways to give without spending too much. Sometimes our budget is a little lower than what we want it to be, so we find ways to show our loved ones and our friends that we still love them without big price tags. Homemade gifts do that exact thing but, what can we make that our family and friends will love.
If you have a certain talent like crocheting or kniting, that is great, you can always make baby blankets, scarfs, shawls, or wraps. My mother crochets panchos, baby blankets and scarfs and gives them away as christmas presents.
Making jewelry with beads can also be a wonderful gift to give away. Sometimes you can find jewelry kits on sale, like at Micheals, it’s an arts and crafts store. Their are alot of things that can be used to make gifts we just have to look around and an arts and crafts store is the perfect place to get our creativity going.
This Christmas, I am planning on making baked goods and giving them to my neighbors just to show them that they are appreciated. There are small boxes and canisters that can be bought for a dollar at the Dollar Tree, where everything is a dollar.
If you don’t want to bake, you can get a jar, like a spagetti sauce jar and fill it up with all the ingredients of your favorite cookie recipe or brownie recipe, just layer the ingredients one at a time and close with the lid. Decorate your jar with a ribbon and don’t forget to add the recipe. Do not add wet ingredients, on the recipe card you will put what is needed like eggs, oil, water, etc.
These are just a few ideas that can be used as gifts, they are inexpensive and it shows are family and friends that we care about them.
