How to Save money and Go Green at the Same Time
Article about: go green, save money
You might think it is a big hassle to “go green” as they say, but it’s really not that bad. Do you ever get tired of changing light bulbs? Well I have some good news, for around two or three dollars you can buy a bulb that will last much longer than a standard bulb and save energy too.
You may think this a lot of money to pay for a light bulb, but when you consider that it will last a couple of years, it doesn’t seem like that much at all. It also uses much less energy than the standard bulb, so you are saving money two ways, plus the time and effort it takes to change the bulb. Try using a compact fluorescent bulb, it will save you time and money and help the environment.
You can also do some recycling, if you drink soda pop, beer or know someone who does, you can collect enough cans to not only help the environment but also put some money in your pocket. Many people in this area walk down the road collecting cans to take to the local recycle center.
Buy a battery charger for your camera batteries, remote control, flashlight, and other things that take batteries. This will save you money after the initial investment and create a lot less waste from corrosive substances that they contain. When your rechargeable batteries are worn out, take them to a proper recycle center. I doubt if they pay for them but these do not need to be in the landfills. Do not throw them in the garbage!
When you go shopping carry your own shopping bag with you. Some stores even offer you a discount for doing this. Stop using the paper and plastic store bags, this will cut down on the waste and pollution that is destroying our natural resources.
