Stress is something that at one point or another, will affect our lives. It can affect us in many ways, including emotionally, physically, and mentally. Some symptoms of stress are headaches, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, body aches, dizziness and the list goes on. In this article, I will tell you of a few ways to relieve stress from your daily lives.
1. Exercise- Going for a brisk walk or doing a work out video at home is a good way of relieving stress. If you have a pet, take him or her with you on a hike or to the park, that way the both you can get in some exercise for the day.
2. Massage- A good back rub is always great for when you feel the tension of stress. Go to a massage parlor or get your partner to give you a good old fashion rub down. A bit of oil or cream will make the massage feel better.
3. Talking- Give your friends or relatives a phone call. Having a conversation will a loved one is also helpful when dealing with stress. I always call my mom when I feel stressed out and after awhile of venting, I feel better. Going out to lunch with a friend or loved one is also a good idea. Eat, laugh, and talk, you will feel better by the time your done.
4. Taking a hot bath or shower- Turn on some scented candles and melt away the stress in a hot bath or a long hot shower. Relax and clear your mind of everything for awhile.
5. Reading a book- I like to take at least 1 hour out of my day to read a book or my bible. I usually wait until I put my baby down for a nap. Reading helps to relax me, even if it’s a little at a time.
6. Take a nap- I know that sometimes there is no time for a nap but, even a 30 minute nap works wonders to relieve stress. Our bodies and minds need a time out every once in awhile and a nap is the perfect remedy.
7. Write in a journal or diary- Keeping a journal or a diary is another excellent way to relieve stress. Go ahead and write down all the things that are bothering you. A lot of the times we don’t want others to know our personal business so writing them down is a good way to vent our worries.
8. Gardening- Doing some gardening or yard work is good for stress relief and at the same time your property will look presentable. If you make a garden, you will not only get rid of stress, you will also get rewarded with fruits and vegetables or some beautiful flowers if you don’t want a vegetable garden.
