Children love doing things with their parents when they are young. Finding things to do isn’t always easy. It’s even harder when the weather is bad and you have to stay inside. It is possible to have fun with your children on rainy days. Here are some indoor activities to do with your children.

1. Play board games. This is an old favorite. Children love playing board games geared towards kids. It’s even more fun with mom and dad play too. Let the child pick which game they’d love to play and have fun.

2. Bake cookies. What better way to pass a rainy afternoon than baking cookies? The smell alone is enough to make it worth the mess.

3. Read aloud. If your child is old enough encourage them to read with you. Each person can be a character. Really get into the role and make it fun.

4. Dance around the living room. Little kids especially enjoy this. They get to act wild and crazy inside the house. That’s not something that happens often.

5. Watch a movie. Let your child pick a favorite movie, pop some popcorn, and have a relaxing evening.

6. Play video games. It doesn’t matter if you’re good at it or not, they’ll just love that you are taking an interest in something they like.

7. Do craft projects. Kids love making things. Some ideas would be cards for grandparents, funny masks, and jewelry. It’s very easy to make bead jewelry. Children will love the fact that they are making something “real”.

8. Sing karaoke. This one is sure to be a hit with most kids. They get to be a star!

9. Draw or color. Kids are very creative. Join them in the fun and draw a picture. You could even be really brave and use finger paints.

10. Play dress up. This one is mostly for girls. Go all out and let your daughter become a movie star!

These activities are sure to make the day a little brighter. They give you the opportunity to connect with your child in a fun way. Take advantage of these times. Kids grow up too fast and will soon not want to do anything with their parents.
